In Memory of Hazel O'Hara

April 14,1922........June 1, 2004

Remembered Joy

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savored much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief-
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.

HAZEL O'HARA

BY  BRENDAN O'HARA

A GREAT MOM, GRANDMA, AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER.

AND ALL OF US KNOW SHE WAS LIKE NO OTHER.

AND I BET A FEW OF US NEVER GOT TO SAY

HI OR I LOVE YOU BEFORE SHE PASSED AWAY

BUT I THINK SHE KNOWS YOU LOVE HER VERY MUCH

AND KNOW SHE HAS GODS' FAITHFUL TOUCH

BUT WE KNOW SHE WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS

NOTHING WILL KEEP OUR BOND WITH HER APART

WE ARE FILLED WITH SO MUCH SADNESS AND SORROW

BUT WE KNOW LIKE HER LOVE THE SUN WILL SHINE TOMORROW

I LOVE

YOU

GRANDMA

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...

I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die

I read the cards For Mother
And the verses bring a tear,
For the loving words are written
To those who are still here.

You always loved the cards we sent
You saved them through the years
You said they made you feel so loved,
Your eyes glistening with tears.

This year when I bring flowers
In my mind your words I'll hear
"They're beautiful .. You shouldn't have!
But I love them ... thank you Dear."

They say you're in a better place
I hope and pray its true,
But ... today is your Birthday...
And I am missing you.
